| Day - 1: |
Zainabad : Morning arrival at Ahmedabad Railway station /
Airport . Transfer by road to Zainabad. Breakfast
enroute and depart for Zainabad (110 kms) the Wild Ass Sanctuary.
The wild ass is to be found only in Gujarat. Its sanctuary covers
around 5,000 sq.km in the Little Rann of Kutch. One can view
the panther, blackbuck, bull, wild boar, wolf and number of
other animals, birds and reptiles are also found here. Zainabad
is known for Desert Coursers - self contained huts for a true
Rann experience. Dinner and overnight at Hotel - Zainabad. |
| Day - 2: |
Zainabad/Bhuj : Early breakfast and a
short trip to the famous Wild Ass Sanctuary. Lunch and depart
for Bhuj enroute pass through Wankaner once an important town
of the Jhala Rajputs who came to Gujarat from Sindh in the 11th
century and Morbi once one of the wealthiest town in Saurashtra
famous for its clocks, tiles and ceramics. If time permits overlook
Wag Palace, Mani Mandir or Wellingdon Secretariat, the Suspension
Bridge and the Museum and continue your tour to Bhuj. Check
in and dinner at Hotel. Stay overnight
at Bhuj. |
| Day - 3: |
Khavda/Hodka/Banni/Kalo Dungar/Bhuj :
Breakfast transfer to the Handicraft villages. Visit Banni a
must where some of the most fascinating designs on cloth are
woven by dexterous Kachchhi women. Hodka is located in the Banni
grassland, right on the edge of the great salt desert - the
Rann. Proceed to Bhirandiyara and Tunda Vandha a unique village
inhabited by about 400 Rabaris. Visit Khavda 70 kms. from Bhuj
our turn-around point, starting with Sumrasar Shekhvali the
first village practicing Soof embroidery. Lunch visit to Lodiya
and transfer to Kalo Dungar (Dhinodar-120 kms / 3.5 hrs), the
Black Hills of Kachchh. Set in the heart of the Rann this is
the tallest hillock in Kachchh with a shrine dedicated to Lord
Dattatreya on the top return back to Bhuj by late evening. Dinner
and stay overnight at Bhuj. |
| Day - 4: |
Dholavira/Bhuj : Early breakfast and depart
with pack-lunch for Dholavira (140 kms). Dholavira in Kutch
district is a massive site belonging to the Mohenjo-daro Harappan
civilization. It shows the hydraulic engineering skills of the
Harappans who converted the city walls into veritable reservoirs
to preserve every drop of water. On the present showing, it
is one of the two largest settlements in India and the fourth
largest in the subcontinent. Of special interest to students
of history is a signboard in Indus script, claimed to be one
of the oldest in the world. Witness an unbelievable mirage during
your drive from Dholavira to Bhuj, the earth merges with the
sky. Truly a spectacular experience! Reach late evening, dinner
and overnight at Hotel - Bhuj. |
| Day -
5: |
Bhuj/Ahmedabad : After early
breakfast, Half day local sightseeing of Aina Mahal, Pragmahal
Palace and last minute shopping at Bhujodi and Bhuj city. Early
lunch and depart for a long drive back Ahmedabad. Arrival at
Ahmedabad and late check in at the Hotel. |

6: |
Depart Ahmedabad : Transfer
from your hotel to the Railway station / Airport to catch
